Research firm SUN DAY Campaign found in its analysis of a report released by the U.S. government department in December last year that photovoltaic systems are the fastest-growing source of power generation in the United States.

According to the "Energy Infrastructure Update" report recently released by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), as of October 2023, the installed capacity of photovoltaic systems in the United States is 10,937MW, accounting for 42.1% of its total installed capacity of various energy sources.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration also released data as of October 2023 in its "Electric Power Monthly". These data show that the power generation of all renewable energy power generation facilities in 2023 accounted for 22.8% of the total power generation in the United States. Electricity generated from photovoltaic systems, including residential rooftop photovoltaic systems, increased by 14.7% compared to last year, outpacing other renewable energy sources.

Ken Bossong, executive director of the SUN DAY Campaign, noted, “As the fastest growing source of electricity, photovoltaic systems are leading the U.S. transition away from nuclear energy and fossil fuels.
